Carlos Alcaraz Shows His Heart: Replies to Daughter of Wimbledon Fan Who Fell Ill

Carlos Alcaraz showed his caring side on Monday when he rushed to help a fan who fell ill during his match on Centre Court, earning cheers and respect from the Wimbledon crowd. The dramatic moment happened during his intense five-set battle against Italy’s Fabio Fognini. As temperatures soared over 32 degrees Celsius, a woman in the stands suddenly fainted. The incident occurred just after Carlos took a 3-0 lead in the fifth set. Seeing the commotion, the 22-year-old Spaniard quickly grabbed a bottle of water and carried it over to the fan, who appeared to be an elderly woman. Spectators applauded Alcaraz’s swift and thoughtful response.

The story didn’t end there. The following day, the woman’s daughter, Eluned Lewis, posted a public thank-you message on X (formerly Twitter), writing:

“Thank you Carlos for the concern shown to my mum today who was taken ill during your tennis match at Centre Court @Wimbledon. Unlikely you’ll see this message but I can try! Thank you 🙏❤️.”

To everyone’s delight, Alcaraz did see the message and replied the next day with his trademark warmth:

“You’re very welcome, it was nothing! I hope your mum is doing well. Send her a kiss from me and take good care of her! ❤️”
